Obituary of Muriel Eliza Howard

The death of Muriel Eliza (Manning) Howard of Saint John, NB, wife of the late James “Ron” Howard, occurred on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John she was a daughter of the late Earl and Bernice (Walker) Manning. She was employed as a stenographer with Cody’s Food Equipment for many years. She was a devoted member of Portland United Church, their UCW and a faithful member of the Eastern Star. Muriel is survived by two daughters, Beth (John) Leonard of Saint John, NB, and Joy (Norm) Sawh of Dartmouth, NS; sister, Hattie Lockett of Sussex Corner, NB; sisters-in-law, Colleen Howard and Gladys Howard; grandchildren Eric, Adam and Jack Leonard, Darryl, Mallory, Jed and Nolan Sawh; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday, May 16, 2010 from 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 17, 2010 from Portland United Church at 10:00 am. A private family interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Portland United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society.
