Obituary of Shirley Marie Walker

Shirley Marie Walker, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away August 3, 2010 in the Embassy Hall, Quispamsis. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Olie and Effie (Wambolt) Olsen. Shirley was loved by many and welcomed all with an open door policy. She loved to yodel and whistle and spend time with family and friends. She loved to camp, play horseshoes and bowl. She attended Black River United Church and was the treasurer for the Seaview Community Club and a long time member of the I.O.F. Besides her husband, John Douglas Walker, she is survived by her children, Bonny Culley, Baxter’s Corner; Wanda Weston, Gardner Creek; Kimberly Donovan, Gardner Creek; brothers, Reg Olsen, Saint John; Ted Olsen Saint John; grandchildren, Craig (Nicole) Culley; Marc Culley; Michelle Weston; Chelsey Weston; great-grandchildren, Tyler Weston and Michaela Eifler; several nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her parents; brother, Henry Olsen and grandson, Ryan Weston. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Saturday 11 AM- 1PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1 PM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Black River United Cemetery.
