Obituary of Isabel Jones

The death of Isabel Jones (Garland) of Kings Way Care Centre formerly of 189 Molson Ave. Isabel went home to be with her lord and saviour on August 18, 2010. She was the wife of the late Victor Earl Jones. Born in St. John’s, NL on April 9, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Eli and Rhoda (Hayward) Garland and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her three children, Patricia (Paul) Beesley of Saint John; Al (Elaine) Jones of Toronto, ON and Ruth (Byron) Phillips of Tracy, NB; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and a special young neighbour Tim Cornfield. Predeceased by one sister, Alice Pike; three brothers, Alfred, Edward and Reuben Garland. Isabel worked for many years at the DVA Hospital on the blood team. She enjoyed many years as a private nurse. Isabel was an active member of her church Calvary Temple and as of the past few years, Kings Way Assembly, Quispamsis. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 9:00 am from Brenan’s Chapel. Following the service family and friends are invited to attend a reception at Brenan’s Reception Centre.
