Obituary of Jean A. Briggs

The death of Jean A. Briggs, formerly of 55 Magazine St, wife of the late Harland Briggs occurred on April 29th, 2010 at Guelph General Hospital after a brief illness. Jean was in her ninety second year. She is survived by two sons, Robert Briggs (Debbie) of Coquitlam BC, Phillip Briggs (Debby) of Burlington ON, one daughter, Janet Lawrie (Ian) of Guelph ON, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one sister, Greta Bromley of Kelowna BC. Active in Saint John for many years, she was a member of YMCA Ladies Auxiliary, Westfield Golf & Country club, U.C.W. Centenary Queen Square Church, and a charter member of the Epworth Park Outing Association. A memorial service and short reception will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 12 noon. Interment at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the charity of donor's choice.
