Obituary of John Elvin Wells

Surrounded by his family the death of John Wells, husband of Donna (Doucette) (Smith) Wells occurred on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born on May 22, 1946 in Saint John to the late Charles and Dorothy (Taylor) Wells. John was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, volunteering to fight with the United States. He worked first for Diamond Taxi for 15 years, than as a truck driver with Thomas Construction for over 20 years. John was a member of the Saint John Boat Club. He was a “Jack of all trades” always having a project on the go. John loved to camp, play darts, listen to old country music and drink Jack Daniels. Besides Donna his devoted wife, John is survived three sons: David (Danielle) of Saint John and John S. (Jen) and Jason both of Red Deer, AB; step-daughter, Shelley Smith (John) of Saint John; step-son, JR Smith of Saint John; brother, Frank Wells of Saint John and eleven grandchildren. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will held from Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 2 PM. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to John’s Living Memorial would be appreciated by the family.
