Obituary of E. Elizabeth Black

The death of Elva "Betty" E.J. (McInnis) Black of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Claud J.P. Black, occurred on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on January 14, 1940 she was a daughter of Phyllis F.M. (Girlie Groves) and the late Frank E. McInnis. Betty was employed at the DVA, St. Joseph's and the Saint John Regional Hospital as a nurse. She was a member of NB Nurses Union, St. Joseph's Hospital Nursing School Alumni and St. Vincent's High School Alumni. Besides her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Black (Michael McKay) of Calgary, AB; three sons, Peter (Kathy) of Halifax, NS, Michael of Dieppe, NB, Robert of Sydney, Australia, one brother, Robert (Francoise) McInnis of Winnipeg, MB; one sister, Joanella (Stephen) Corbett of Calgary, AB; mother-in-law Beatrice Black; four grandchildren, Katie, Alex, Sophie and Nicolas Black, several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, Jean, Marie and Therse and in-laws, May, Claudette, Betty Ann, Rosemarie and Gord. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB, (634-7425) with visiting on Monday, November 17, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from Bay View Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the IWK Children's Hospital, Palliative Care Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation.
