Obituary of Dorothy Jean Buckley

Buckley, Dorothy Jean … The death of Dorothy (Dot) Buckley occurred Monday July 5. 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a short but valiant battle with cancer. Dot was in her eighty first year. Dot was a life long resident of Saint John; the daughter of Charles and Sue (McArthur) Kingston. Dot was the wife of the late John A. Buckley, her loving husband of fifty two years, and is survived by three children: John (Elaine), Stephen (Kelly) and only daughter and apple of her eye, Lynn (Al) Arseneault. Besides her children, Dot is survived by one brother, Jimmy (Saint John), and a sister, Joan Kraft of Toronto; two grandchildren, Colt and Marlee Buckley, and four step-grandsons, Jason, Chris, Matt, and Mikey Inness. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Dot was predeceased by one brother, Ronald. Although Dot was employed as a store clerk during the mid to late sixties at M.R.A.'s and Calp's Department Stores in Uptown Saint John; most of her adult life was spent making a home for her husband and children. She did have an avid interest in Blue Jays Baseball, with her husband, and the Fundy Trail Beagle Club with her whole family. In her later life nothing pleased her more than to spend the evening with best friends Bertha Lynch and Irene Sheffroth. As per Dot's express wishes, immediate cremation will take place. Dot's remains will be placed with her husband at a private ceremony by her family at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West, NB. (506)634-7425. For those who wish remembrances may be made to Romero House in Dot's memory. www.bayviewfh.com
