Obituary of J. Alexander Marr

Jody Alexander "Alex" Marr of Nerepis passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born at Saint John on May 26, 1990, he was a son of Nicole R. McKeown and the late Jody Marr.  Alex was a graduate of Harbour View High School. Ever since he was old enough, Alex had a hockey stick in his hand; he played hockey for various teams, and was an all around avid sports player and fan.  In addition to his mother, Alex is survived by two brothers, Tyler and Jesse, both at home; his grandparents, Murray and Geraldine Marr of Nerepis, Ward McKeown (Marie Ann Fournier), Lorna McKeown (Frank Kelly), and great grandparents Bob and Ellen McKeown, all of Grand Bay-Westfield; three uncles, Shawn McKeown (Kimberley) of Grand Bay-Westfield, Cory Marr (Tamara), and Dean Marr (Bobbie), both of Nerepis; and several great aunts and uncles, and cousins.  Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM from Bay View Chapel. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to a Living Memorial would be appreciated by the family. Â
