Obituary of Ethel M. Landers

LANDERS-the death of Ethel M. Landers of 977 Kennebecasis Drive, widow of Joseph G. Landers, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, November 23, 2008. Mrs. Landers was born in Saint John on August 10 1920, a daughter of the late John and Edith (Webb) Fowler. She had been employed with T. S. Simms and later with her husband at Silver Dollar Second Hand Shop. She belonged to various senior citizen clubs and enjoyed cards, bingo, and knitting. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Fowler. She is survived by two sons, Gerald (Jackie), and Peter (Mary-Jo), both of Saint John; two daughters, Colleen Knudson (Gary), and Susan Court (Mark), both of Saint John; seven grandchildren, Debbie, Robert, Joel, and Colin Landers, Joseph and John Knudson, and Jason Court; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Tuesday from 7 to 9 and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church on Thursday morning at eleven o'clock. Interment will take place in holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Saint John Regional Hospital Neuro-Surgery Unit 4B South, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
