Obituary of Alfred J. Martin

<p>MARTIN-the death of Alfred J. Martin of 14 Haslett Drive, Quispamsis, husband of Leona N. (Gordon) Martin, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday,&nbsp; August 15, 2010.&nbsp; Mr. Martin was born in Saint John, a son of the late Alphonse and Hilda (Holburn) Martin, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He had been a member of the Saint John Police Force for 35 years, retiring in 1988 with the rank of inspector.He had been a guitar player with various local bands.</p> <p><br />Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Richard (Beverly) of Rothesay; four daughters, Maxine Martin of Saint John, Joanne (Richard) Mowry of Quispamsis, Pamela (Michael) Cole of Quispamsis, and Jessie(Marc) Comeau of Saint John; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Tuesday from 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Wednesday at 12:05. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. <br /><br /></p>
