Obituary of Sophie M. Hansen

HANSEN-the death of Sophie M. Hansen, widow of Ralph W. F. Hansen, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 11, 2010. Mrs. Hansen was born in St. Louis, P.E.I., a daughter of the late Emmanuel and Evangeline (Arsenault) Allain, and had lived the greater part of her life in Saint John, where she had been employed with New System Laundry, General Bakeries, and later with T. S. Simms for 17 years until her retirement in 1986. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Gerard Allain; and two sisters, Rita Moser, and Dora Allain. She is survived by one son, Daniel (Diane) Hansen of Moncton; one daughter, Geraldine (Grant) Tilly of Grand Bay-Westfield; two brothers, Frederick and Francis Allain, both of St. Louis, P.E.I.; three sisters, Margaret Doucett of St. Louis, P.E.I., Lorraine (Clayton) Boudreau of Keswick, N.B., and Mary Allain of St. Louis, P.E.I.; 5 grandchildren, Kevin (Joan) Tilly, Tracey (Mark) Cormier, and Scott, Todd, and Troy "Mike" Hansen; 12 great-grandchildren, Emma Cormier, Lauren Tilly, Brandon, Chelsea, April, Alijah, Madelynn, Tyler, Cheyanna, Emily, Sierra, and Bella; very special friend, Geralda Doyle; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Saturday from 7 to 9 and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at St. Peter's Church on Monday afternoon at 12:15. Following cremation interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
