Obituary of Lawrence A Desmond

DESMOND-Dr. Lawrence A "Laddie" Desmond- Peacefully, in the company of his family on Sunday, November 7, 2010, in Oakville, On. He now joins his late wife, Eugenia. Loving father of James (Lisa) Desmond, his grandchildren, Lena and Liam Desmond, Courtney McKinnon, Lyndsay and Weston Morgan. Survived and beloved by his sister, Elizabeth (Bud) Cann, brothers, Vince (Anne), Joe, and Bernie (Joan). A long-time Winnipeg resident, professor and Dean at St. Paul's College U of M (1960-95), he retired to Ontario to be close to his son and family. He will be deeply missed by his many relatives, friends, colleagues, and students in Canada and the U.S. and particularly in Saint John, Mississauga and Winnipeg. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church on Saturday morning, November 20, 2010, at ten o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
