Obituary of Karen Elizabeth Palmer

It is with great sadness that the family of Karen Elizabeth Palmer announces her sudden passing on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the Church of St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home. Karen was born on July 20, 1967 to the late Ingham and Ruth (MacKenzie) Palmer.

Karen was a special person. She was kind and caring; always thinking of others before herself. Karen had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up a room. She touched the lives of many people and brought happiness to their day.

Karen was able to live in her westside family home with help from her sister Ruth and enjoyed lots of fun activities with her brother-in-law Bud. They made many special memories together. She loved camping at Pleasant Lake and Hilltop, as well as going on trips with them to Florida, Vegas, Toronto and throughout Atlantic Canada.

Karen was an avid bowler and was a part of several local leagues. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, singing karaoke, and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune nightly. Karen also loved animals, especially her furbabies, country music and the Boston Red Sox.

Karen will be dearly missed by her siblings; David Palmer, Robert Palmer (Joanne), Jamie Palmer (Roxie) and Ruth Connor (Bud), Uncle Lloyd Palmer (Marion), several nieces, nephews and cousins, and her fur babies kitties McLips and Chloe.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home for the great care and kindness given to Karen during her stay there. Also many grateful thanks to N.P A.M Creamer for her amazing dedication to Karen over the years.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home , 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 3:00 PM- 7:00 PM.
