Obituary of Mavis Geraldine Hanson

It is with great sadness that the family of Mavis Geraldine (Dubee) Hanson announces her passing which occurred on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at the Loch Lomond Village with her loving family by her side. Born in Saint John, NB, on June 17, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Esther (Wright) Dubee.

Mavis is survived by her children, Larry (Marlene) Hanson, Lynn (John) Sabean, Kathy (Dave) Floyd, Nancy Hanson; stepdaughter, Joan “Allie” Salvo; son-in-law, Victor Whittaker; 16 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren with 3 on the way; chosen sister, Diane Leblanc; childhood friend, Lois Peake; as well as her special fur baby, Sophie. In addition to her parents, Mavis was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Hanson; daughter, Geraldine Whittaker; granddaughter, Heather Whittaker; great-grandson, Blake Ferguson.

 

Mavis enjoyed bingo, baking, reading, and playing cards.

 

The family would like the thank the nurses and staff from the Loch Lomond Village for their exemplary care. Special thanks to Mark, RN, as well.

 

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). With visitation on Monday, May 23, 2022, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Brenan’s Chapel on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
