Annie Ewart

Obituary of Annie Barbara Ewart

It is with heavy hearts the family of Annie Barbara Ewart announces her unexpected passing, which occurred on May 22nd, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Oxford, NS, on February 19th, 1949, she was the daughter of Ainsley and Patricia (nee Alexander) Patriquin.

Annie, who was better known as Barbara or Barb, was a strong, independent, feisty woman who cared deeply for her family and friends. She was always willing to help someone out but was also not afraid to call you out on bullsh*t. She would tell you she was just making sure they weren’t “telling stories”, meh, tomatoe, tomato – a trait she passed onto her children. For many years she worked as a nurse in various health care settings, with her focus being on psychiatric care. Mom had the opportunity to share her skills and knowledge by becoming a travel nurse where she worked/lived in Louisiana for many years, and prior to retirement in 2003, she worked in Maine.

Barbara is survived by her three loving children Tammy Robichaud (Rob), Heather Robichaud (Joe), and Brian Ewart (Cherie); grandchildren Randi, Carrie, Ryan, Darian, and Rachel; great-grandchildren Alexandra, Dominic, Jennsen, Scott, and Rose; brothers Reginald, Wendell, Darrell, and Lee; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, sister Pansy, and brothers Sonny, Dennis, and Brian.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). In following with Barb’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Donations in Barb’s memory can be made to the charity of your choice.
