Obituary of Ella Martha Greenlaw

It is with great sadness that the family of Ella Martha Greenlaw announces her passing which occurred on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at her residence in Quispamsis. Born in Painsec Junction, NB on December 27, 1927, she was a daughter of the late John and Jennie (Jones) Green.

Ella loved everybody, and everybody had the same love for her. She was a wonderful, beautiful bundle of life. She was often known as Miss-Ella, Mee-Maw, Grandma Rooster, Golden Graham, Mama and Mom. She had love for stock car racing, mud bogging, pontoon boating, horses, gardening, road trips, spending time on the river at the cottage. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

 

Ella is survived by her loving daughters, Lori (Dave), Dawne, Susan, Cynthia (Steve); sons, Jacky, Dougie (Patti), Earle (Michelle); brothers, Robert and Albert; grandchildren, Michelle (Steve), Jason (Wendy), John, Tom, Jennifer, Matthew (Anushka), Alex (Camy), Angela, Sumner (Melissa) – and their children, Emmaleigh, Ben and Jake who loved their Mee-Maw and are honoured to carry the last name Greenlaw; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; her beloved dog Quincey; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Ella was predeceased by her husband, Donald Sumner Greenlaw; brothers, Alfred, George; sister, Ethel.

 

Lori and Dave wish to thank all those who supported Ella’s care in her final months, especially Melissa at KV Extra Mural, Dr. Holloway, Dr. Burnell, and especially Ann for making it possible to carry out Mom’s wish to remain home.

 

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A Funeral Service will be held from The Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will take place prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
