Obituary of Dorothy Helena MacDonald

Dorothy Helena “June” (MacCollum) MacDonald of Tucker Hall, wife of the late Donald S. MacDonald, died December 31, 2022 at her residence. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late George and Mildred (Knox) MacCollum. She was a member of Portland United Church, where she was a member of the UCW. She was a volunteer and member of the auxiliary of the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one daughter, Sue A. Ehrlander (Ralph) of Saint John; one granddaughter, Sabrina Ehrlander of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

She is predeceased by a daughter, Catherine Beth; brother, Ronald; sisters, Viola Ferris and Joan Rossley.

The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers of both Millidge Hall and Tucker Hall and Parkland Shannex for the care, compassion, and friendship shown to June and her family these past 3 years. Your kindness will not be forgotten.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), where visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 12:30 pm until 2 pm, at which time the Service of Remembrance will begin. Those unable to attend will be able to watch the livestream of the service by clicking on the link attached to her obituary on Brenan’s website.

The family requests no flowers, but donations made to Portland United Church Benevolent Fund, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
