Obituary of Roger Patrick Sullivan

It is with heavy hearts, the family of Roger Patrick Sullivan, husband of Irene Sullivan, announce his passing on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Born on January 4, 1946, in Moncton, NB, he was a son of the late Frederick and Dorella (Therien) Sullivan and his biological mother, Dorothy Morrissey. Roger and Irene met when they were younger and were married for 46 years this July. Roger was a veteran, stationed in Germany as a Peacekeeper, serving his country from 1963 to 1967, retiring from the military as Corporal. He then was employed with the Saint John Police Force until his retirement. After retiring from the Police Force, Roger began working at a hunting and fishing shop on the West Side of Saint John. Roger loved nature and found great solace spending his time fishing and hunting, especially deer hunting in the Autumn. Roger will be remembered by his friends at Tim Horton’s for the many lotto pools he organized, as well as the laughter and comradery he brought to every get together. Roger was a loving person who strived to make the world a better place. He will be fondly remembered by all those who had the pleasure of meeting him.

Roger is survived by his wife Irene, his daughters; Eileen Sullivan and Roxanne Sullivan, his beloved granddaughters Arah and Raya Sullivan; siblings: Donnie (Gloria) Morrissey, Rick (Debby) Morrissey, Lynda Morrissey and Debbie Morrissey; brother-in-law, Alfred Leblanc, as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Roger was predeceased by his parents, sisters Margaret-Ann Gagnon, Pat Morrisey-Leblanc, Marilyn Stewart; brother, Louis (Elizabeth) Sullivan, and brothers-in-law Nev and Richard.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of 3BS and the Dialysis Department, especially Nurse Flossie, for their compassion and care towards Roger.
