Obituary of Thomas “Tom” Frank Ingalls
It is with heavy hearts the family of Tom Ingalls, of Saint John, announce his passing on Sunday, January 26, 2025, after a courageous battle with declining health. Born in North Head, Grand Manan on March 27, 1949, he was a son of the late Frank and Wilma Ingalls.
Tom was a loving father who cared very deeply for his children . He is survived by his son Edward (Kim) Ingalls, Dartmouth, and his daughter Vanessa (Michael) Stuart, Saint John. He had a very special place in his heart for his granddaugters Sara and Emily Ingalls and Alyssa and Paige Stuart. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Locke and Donna Mullen; his special feline friend, Spencer; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joan (Arseneau) Ingalls; sister, Louise; and
brothers: Harold, Melvin, and Lyle.
You could often find Tom in the kitchen preparing a big breakfast on a Sunday morning, or patiently preparing the ingredients for his famous spaghetti sauce loved by all (especially his granddaughters). Tom was the biggest Blue Jays fan, and loved to cheer on his Maple Leafs as well. He worked as a security guard at both St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Saint John Regional Hospital, where he stayed until retirement. Tom always had a smile on his face and enjoyed sharing a story while drinking a cup of Tim Hortons.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Saint John Regional Hospital, as well as his extra mural caretakers and an extra speacial thanks to his Home Care team that always went the extra mile to take really good care of Tom.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424), where a time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral liturgy will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from Brenan’s Chapel at 11 am.
