Gertie and I sat together on the way home from Las Vegas for Shawn’s wedding and we had a ball. She asked me if I thought the pilot would mind if we went out on the wing and “winged it” to have a smoke. LOL She was absolutely adorable. Condolences to the family. Kelly and Glenn Mahaney were saddened to hear of your loss. I was happy to see Gertie at my mother's funeral (Jean Mahaney) since it had been so many years. I was also heartened to see the wonderful kids she raised (my cousins). As with my mother, Gertie lived a long life blessed with so many people that loved her. I have many fond memories of visiting Billy and Gertie in the 60s and 70s. I remember Billy and Dad in Billy's garage talking about the many cars Billy fixed, while Mom and Gertie sat in the kitchen, and us kids played in the large back yard. We were all blessed to have such wonderful parents.
