Obituary of Jack Gordon Nichols
It is with great sadness the family of Jack Gordon Nichols (Jackie) share the news of his passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 13, 2025, his 92nd birthday, with his family by his side. Born in Saint John, Jack lived a full life, living independently at his home a week before his passing.
In his earlier years, Uncle Jack worked for over 45 years at Zellers, travelling the Maritimes for work and setting up displays and helping with store renovations. He enjoyed family time spent at his summer home and loved his travels to Florida, Boston, Ottawa, all over the southern states and to London, England. He loved gardening and being in his beautiful yard that he kept immaculate. Jack always appreciated an invite to any family gathering and loved to share stories about the days gone by. He cherished his family and happily accepted homemade treats, as well as a container with a leftover meal for the next day. He never came without a bag of goodies. Jack had not driven in many years but that did not stop him from getting around, often being seen catching the bus, or strolling around uptown.
Jack is survived by his many nieces and nephews. Being the last surviving member of his immediate family, he was predeceased by his parents, Ethel May (Andrews) and William John Nichols; sisters: Marion Raid (George), Marjorie Kincade (Arthur), and Isabel Vienneau (Andre); and brothers: Arthur (Bertha), Edward (Fran), and William (Bernice).
