Obituary of Edeltraud Schluter

It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Edeltraud Schluter on Thursday February 20, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a period of failing health. Born in Germany, in 1935, Edeltraud was a daughter of the late Hans-Fritchen Karpenstein and Karoline Ida (Hahn) Karpenstein, and widow of the late Wilhelm Andreas Schluter.

Edeltraud is survived by her only son Thomas (Susan) Schlueter and their sons Michael (Jess and son Killian) and Kurtis in New Brunswick; in Ontario by her grandson David (Sarah) and his three sons Jared, Ryan, and Carter; in Germany by her two brothers Gunter and Utz; her sister Inge and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Edeltraud was predeceased by her parents Hans-Fritchen and Karoline; her husband Wilhelm; her daughter Marita and grandson Kenny; brothers and sisters Regina, Uta, Dieter, Heidi, and Jurgen.

The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701).  As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. Online condolences can be made to www. Castlefh.ca
