Obituary of Ellen Florence Haley

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Ellen Haley on February 26, 2025. Ellen was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on November 15, 1964, to the late Alice and Eric Haley. Ellen leaves behind her son Max Kleinke as well as brothers Eric (Donna) and Dan, sisters; Lynne, Maggie and Sue. She also leaves behind nieces Emma, Brie, Megahnn, Patti and nephews Tom, Michael, Josh, and Kainen. She will be sadly missed by her dear friend Desiree. She was predeceased by siblings Sean and Tara.

Ellen graduated from the Saint John School of Nursing in 1987. She worked in OBS/GYN for many years before transferring to the Extra Mural Program. She retired in 2019.

Ellen loved knowledge, was a voracious reader and loved to play Jeopardy. She had a wonderful sense of humour and loved to make people laugh. She was also a passionate cook.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506634-1701. There will be no visitation as per Ellen’s request A private burial service will take place with Ellen laid to rest with her parents at Holy Cross Cemetery.

The Family would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the Extra Mural Program and the Palliative Care Team at the Saint John Regional Hospital for the wonderful care received. Your attention and kindness will never be forgotten.
