Obituary of Helen Margeurite Adams

Surrounded by her loving family, Helen Margeurite Adams (nee Howe) passed peacefully on February 27, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on May 18, 1939, in Saint John, NB, to the late Owen and Georgina (nee Collins) Howe. Helen will be dearly missed by her children Mike Adams (Dawn), Cindy Hutchinson (Danny), Lana Graves (Chris), and Darren Adams (Stacey Warnock- Powers), brothers Owen Howe Jr. (Ruby Benoit), and David Howe (Pat), 14 grandchildren, 16
great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, as well as brothers-in-law Nelson Adams (Nancy) and Frank Adams.

Besides her parents, Helen will be lovingly reunited with her husband, Leslie ‘Les’ Adams Sr., son Leslie Adams Jr, his wife Nancy Adams, and sisters-in-law Gladys and Jeannine Howe. Helen was very active, a member of the Treble Clef Singers, the choir at the Church of the Good Shepherd, and a member of the “45ers” Ladies card club for more than 50 years. You could find Helen on Sunday and Monday nights, skating to St. Mary’s Band. She loved to skate and spent her
childhood doing so on Lily Lake. She was also a member of the Carleton Curling Club for many years. Helen’s first job was working at Slocum and Ferris in the City Market with her aunts, then she moved on to Coca Cola. After her time at Coca Cola, she moved on to CP Rail / NB Southern Railway, where she worked as a stenographer for many years, retiring after a very full career.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home (506-634-7424) 111 Paradise Row, Saint John. Visitation will take place on Friday, March 7 from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM with a service to follow at 3:00PM in Brenan’s Chapel. The service will be live-streamed for those who are unable to attend. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery to be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Helen may be made to Loch Lomond Villa.

The Adams family would like to thank the Staff of Loch Lomond Villa-Elm House especially, for taking such wonderful, loving care of our Mom and our kid's Nanny as they are truly angels.
