Obituary of Wesley Ronald McLellan
The Habs lost their number one fan when our brother, Wesley McLellan, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born May 28, 1947, in Saint John, he was a son of the late Louis Robert McLellan and Mabel Alice (Neves) McLellan.
Keeping true to their father’s legacy as a ball-star pitcher, Wesley started his own softball team and called it “The McLellans”, and most of the players were, in fact, McLellans. Besides softball, and his Montreal Canadiens, Wesley also was an avid darts player and enjoyed watching UFC. He was a trooper in the military in his early years, before working in the trucking industry as a foreman. He was a kind man who would help anyone in need and will be missed by all who knew him.
Wesley is survived by his chosen daughter, Stephanie Cameron; chosen grandchildren: Chelsy Cameron, Megan Lyons, and Paul Cameron-Foote; sister, Marney Ellen Foote (Paul); brothers: Gene McLellan, Louis McLellan (Mary), Kim McLellan (Dorothy), and Lance McLellan (Sherrie); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Wesley was predeceased by sisters; Lois, Star, Verna, and Beulah, brothers; Rickey and Fred, nephews; Chad, Billy, and Kevin, nieces; Gayle and Susan.
