It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of Helen Doreen (Dodie) Belyea on Friday March 14, 2025, at the Orchard View Long Term Care Home, Gagetown, N.B. after a period of failing health. Born in Saint John, N.B. on December 22,1926, Dodie was a daughter of the late Arthur Emery Northrup and Helma (Goddard) Northrup, and beloved wife of the late Daniel Otty Belyea (d.2007).

Dodie is survived by her daughter; Helma (Wilson) Taylor, of Brown’s Flat, son: Brian (Judy) Belyea, of Brown’s Flat, four grandchildren; Robert (Bob) Belyea, of Guelph Ontario and of Brown’s Flat, Tracie (Phil) Kennedy, Jason (Cindy) Belyea, and Duane (Becky) Taylor eight great grandchildren; Nathan, Kate, Isaac, Adam, Emma, Carter, Daniel, Natasha, and several nieces, nephews, and special friend Cathy Walker.

Dodie was an active member of the Wesley United Church in Brown’s Flat, holding many roles. She was a Sunday School teacher, superintendent, long term president of the U.C.W. and a member of Presbytery.

Dodie was known for her meals, helping at community suppers over the years and was always cooking for Sunday night dinner when she ever knew how many she would have stop in. Dan and Dodie loved to camp and travelled all around the province with their tent trying out new campgrounds. Dodie loved her family; she taught all the kids to fish and knew all the best fishing holes and was always game to put her long reachers to have a skate on the lake.

Special thanks to the staff at Orchard View Long Term Care Home for the wonderful care Dodie received during her time there

Dodie was predeceased by her parents; Arthur and Helma Northrup, her husband; Daniel Otty Belyea, brothers; Percy (Marg) Northrup, Malcolm (Kay) Northrup, Ralph Northrup, and infant brother, Wendell Northrup, sisters; Melba (Len) Clarke, and Marion (Allan) Murphy.
