Obituary of Paul Cormier
It is with heavy hearts the family of Paul “Stewie” Cormier announces his passing on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at his home. Paul was born on October 9, 1963 in Montreal, Quebec to the late Ellen Cormier.
Paul or better known as “Stewie” loved anything hockey, from playing it to watching it. He was the biggest Habs fan, “Go Habs Go!” Few things brought Paul more joy than watching a hockey game with a cold beer in hand, except for the precious moments he spent with his daughter and grandchildren. His son, daughter, granddaughters, and grandson were truly the light of his life.
In addition to his love for hockey and family, Paul also enjoyed simple pleasures like reading the newspaper and watching Jeopardy.
Paul will be dearly missed by his daughter Shyanna Cormier (Mark), the mother of his children and spouse for 28 years, Andrea Atkinson, siblings; Renee Cormier, Jeanette Dowe (Larry), Susan Cormier, Ronnie Cormier, his grandchildren, Rylan, Payton, and Izaak, whom he affectionately called by their nicknames "Bambino," "Lambino," and "Fat Head," and several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his mother Ellen Paul was predeceased by his son Paul Jr. Cormier (2020).
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19th from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Paul’s Life will take place on Thursday, March 20th at 11:00 AM in Castle Fallsview Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations in Stewie’s memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
