Obituary of Doreen Audrey Carpenter
It is with broken hearts the family announce the passing of Doreen Audrey Carpenter on Wednesday March 19, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on October 13, 1943, in McQuades, Westmorland Co. N.B., Doreen was a daughter of the late King Edward Lounsbury and Bertha (Barry) Lounsbury, widow of her first husband, Ivan P. Worden, and her second husband David A. Carpenter (2012).
Doreen is survived by five children; Kevin (Brenda) Worden, of Browns Flat, Kirk (Dorothy) Worden, of Fredericton, Chad (Aimee) Worden, of Edmonton, Alberta, Crystal (David) Hill, of Saint John, and Michael (Debbie) Worden, of Lethbridge, Alberta, grandchildren; Krista (Chris) Doiron, Sherry (Tyler) Paul, Jason (Ashlee) Worden, Elizabeth Worden, Cory Hill, Missy (Corey) Chevier, Eric Hill, Kaylee ( Jose) Labrenz, Maddison ( Levi ) Wagner, Melissa ( Jared ) Green, and Travis Worden, fourteen great grandchildren; Millie, Ben, Adaya, Lloyd, Ivan, Nathaniel, Connor, Henry, Ella, Lincoln, Hollie, Isabelle, Kai and Nixion, step sisters; Mavis Berube, Alice Lewis, and one step brother; Austin Lewis, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Doreen was predeceased by her parents; King Edward and Bertha Lounsbury, her first husband; Ivan P. Worden, and her second husband; David A. Carpenter (2012), brothers; Gerald Lounsbury, Carl (Elsie) Lounsbury, and Leonard Lounsbury, sisters; Sadie Taylor, Elsie McKenzie, and Millie Allain.
The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle funeral home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701). A visitation will be held on Tuesday March 25, 2025, at Castle funeral home from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A memorial service will take place at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel on March 26, 2025, at 11:00am. Interment will be held at Greenwood cemetery. A reception will follow at Castle Funeral Home.
