Obituary of Dorothy Marie Brown

Passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Dorothy was born on May 24, 1921, in Halifax, NS to the late John and Margaret (McEwan) Smith.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, Dorothy will be missed by her only son, Kevin (Elizabeth “Sis”) of Saint John; grandchildren, Erika Brow (Arthur) of Saint John, Captain Ryan P. Brown (Stacey) of Kingston, Ontario (CAF), Jo-Ellen Dallon (Stephen) of Fort McMurray, Jennifer Laviolette (Pierre) of Ottawa; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Kiley, Jackie, Sofia, Raylyn, J.J, Billie, Gregory, Landon, Ellie, Sophie; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Dot was predeceased by her husband Gregory J. Brown (2012); six brothers, one sister.

Dot was a Registered Nurse for 41 years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and horse racing.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the exceptional care and compassion given to Dorothy over the years. Your kindness and dedication will not be forgotten.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). A Funeral Liturgy will be held from the Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM. A private family interment will take place St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
