Obituary of Aldei Joseph Robichaud

Aldei Joseph Robichaud, age 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025, reunited with his late wife, Irena ‘Jean’ (Maillet). Born on May 14, 1930, in St. Charles, NB, to the late Joseph and Catherine (Martin) Robichaud, Aldei will be lovingly remembered by his children: Joan (John), Claire (David), Steven (Pam), Andrew (Wendy), Carol (Paul), and daughter-in-law Judi. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joe, Crystal, David, Eric, Alexandria, Spencer, Kyle, Ethan, Scott, Chanelle, Anna, and 8 great grandchildren.

Aldei was predeceased by his son Robert, as well as his siblings Leonard, Jim, Gilbert, Pierre, Benoit, Adrien, Celime, Anita, Annette, and Sarah.

A dedicated employee of many years at Moosehead Breweries, Aldei was also a passionate gardener, skilled mechanic, and an avid outdoorsman. He cherished time spent at Ferguson Lake hunting, fishing, and camping, as well as in his backyard beside the Bay of Fundy, where he enjoyed birdwatching and wildlife photography. He also took great pride in growing sunflowers, apple trees and vegetables in his garden.

Above all, Aldei cherished his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and loved spending time with them. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Ridgewood Veterans Wing for their compassionate care.

Resting at Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, April 3 at 12:00 Noon from Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Aldei’s memory can be made to Our Lady of Assumption Church, Ridgewood Veterans Wing, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
