Obituary of Gale Anne Ramsey

With hearts that are truly broken, the family of Gale Anne Ramsey announces her peaceful passing surrounded by her family, at The Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, April 7, 2025.

Born on July 7, 1950 in Saint John, N.B., she was the daughter of her late parents, Catherine Cole and James Ramsey.

Gale was a caring, selfless person who always put others before herself - expecting nothing in return. Her true joy was found in giving to others. She gave her love freely to not only her family and friends, but to everyone she encountered. Gale was known as the "neighbourhood mother" to her son's friends.

Gale's loyalty and dedication was felt by every single family member. Everyone in Gale's circle knew how much they were loved unconditionally. Gale absolutely adored her two sons, Dean and Keith, and her world revolved around them. Dean and Ketih sincerely recognize and appreciate how loving and remarkable that their mother was to both of them.

Gale had a passion for cooking and baking, and took pleasure in preparing meals, which were thoroughly enjoyed by all. She had a deep affection for animals, always having one in her home to love, recently grieving the passing of her fur baby, Delaney after 18 years.

One of Gale's hobbies was knitting. She took the time to inquire what colours each family member wanted their blanket to be. These blankets of love will now be cherished forever.

Gale was employed with Anglophone South School District for 20 plus years as a school bus driver. She was dedicated and took great pride in this position and was an excellent bus driver. Gale was very aware of the responsibility that accompanied this role.

Gale leaves behind her cherished sons, Dean Wilson (Kerry) and Keith Wilson (Angela); beloved sister, Donna Belding (soul brother, Johnny); adored step-daughter, Heather Allen (Dana); precious grandchildren, Kaitlynne, Kourtney, Sonya, Mikey; brother-in-law, Steve Wilson; sister-in-law, Janet Wilson; nephews and nieces, Broc (Troy), Kala (Michel), Kara (Aric), Brent (Gaby), Kendra (Russell); great-nephew, Logan; great-nieces, Claire, Nora; and close friend, Peggy Whitman.

Gale was predeceased by her parents; Catherine Cole and James Ramsey, her brother; Kevin Cole; and best friend, Gale Loughery.

Gale's family would like to thank the staff of The Saint John Regional Hospital for their dedication and kindness they so graciously provided to our loved family member. A special thank you to Dr. Paul Vanhoutte (Emergency Department), Dr. Christian Mackin (Palliative Care), Dr. Chris O'Brien (Palliative Care), and all the palliative care team of 3BN for the exceptional compassion and care they extended to Gale. We would also like to sincerely thank Father Aaron Knox and Father Owen Burns for the spiritual comfort that they brought to Gale. We will be forever filled with gratitude and appreciation for each and every one of you.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Mark’s Church (171 Pettingill Road) on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM, followed by a reception.
