Obituary of Susan Eileen Hargreaves

Susan (Sue) passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 11, 2025 with friends holding her hand.  Sue was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on May 21, 1946, the daughter of the late Eileen and Norman Hargreaves.  She is survived by her brother, Paul and his wife Kay, several cousins and a wonderful circle of friends.

Sue attended St. Vincent’s High School in Saint John and then went on to graduate Teacher’s College and earned her Bachelor of Education from St. Thomas University.  She taught in local schools and served on several school committees during her career.  She was a past member of the Carleton Curling Club and Westfield Golf and Country Club.  Sue loved music and singing and raised her voice with the Carleton Choristers.

Resting at Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB  visiting will take place on Monday, April 14 from 3 - 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Holy Spirit Parish (St. Rose of Lima Worship Site) on Wednesday, April 16 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Sue would appreciate a donation to a charity of the donor’s choice.
