Obituary of Frederick Francis Mahoney

Born in Grand Falls, NB, Fred lived a life defined by hard work, craftsmanship, and quiet strength.

He is survived by his daughters, Sarah and Natasha, and his sisters, Marilyn and Dorina. He was predeceased by his brother, Edgar.

Fred will be remembered for his deep passion for carpentry and woodworking—a craft he not only mastered but generously shared with others. He proudly built his own home and devoted much of his life to hands-on work, including teaching carpentry in prison programs. His career spanned numerous job sites, including the shipyard, Point Lepreau, Irving, and beyond—each one touched by his skilled hands and strong work ethic.

A member of St. Mark’s Church in Quispamsis, Fred will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). In lieu of flowers, lighting a votive candle in his memory is warmly welcomed. Memorial service details will be shared once confirmed.
