Obituary of Frederick "Fred" Joseph Fuller
It is with great sadness that the family of Frederick Joseph Fuller of Saint John announce his passing which occurred on Monday, May 19, 2025 at Ridgewood Veterans Wing. Born on July 23, 1931 in Kitchener, ON, he was a son of the late Hugh Frederick and Gladys (Logue) Fuller.
Fred is survived by his five children (the five P’s), Patricia Fuller-Wilson (Blaise), Peter Fuller, Paul Fuller, Pam Fuller and Patrick Fuller (the late Carla (Porter) Fuller); four grandchildren, Haley and Michael Wilson and Emma and Lauren Fuller; sister, Bobbie Barrett (Murray); as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by the love of his life for 58 years, his wife, Rosalie (Hodgson) Fuller; brother, Paul Fuller (Maureen); sisters, Mary Ann Stevens (Donald) and Susan Fuller.
Fred loved life and loved people but most of all he loved his family. He lived a full life working first as a teacher and eventually becoming the EPA person for Ridgewood Addiction Services, where he helped many people find their sobriety. He also was a returning officer for Elections Canada. Fred sat on many boards over the years and served as a Lieutenant for the Royal Canadian Army. Fred was a frog diver, 4th Degree Knight, actor, orator and was involved in politics.
His family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the wonderful, caring staff and residents of Ridgewood Veterans Wing.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) where visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 2:00 - 7:00 PM with a Knights of Columbus Prayer Service taking place at 4:00 PM and a Legion Tribute taking place at 7:00 PM. A funeral liturgy will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
