Obituary of James Alexander Hutton
With great sadness our family announces the passing of James Alexander Hutton. Jim passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital following a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer at the age of 83.
He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Lottie (Loggie) Hutton, as well as his siblings; Bill Hutton (Jan), Barbara Hutton, and Bob Hutton.
Jim leaves his wife Linda (Miller), sons; Peter, Andrew (Lisa), and David, his grandchildren; Carter Hutton, Michael Hutton, and Évelyne Spinney-Hutton, his sister-in-law Judy Hutton, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jim and his business partner, Ivan Ho, began Kennebecasis Drugs in 1973. He was very proud of the successful business that he and Ivan created. Jim especially enjoyed meeting and chatting with the many customers. He loved that drugstore. Jim was involved with the Pharmacy Association in the 80’s and 90’s and enjoyed his time on the Board of Drug Trading.
The family wishes to thank all the wonderful staff at Homecare by Design for their care and compassion towards Jim and his family.

In keeping with Jim’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from St. David’s United Church, Rothesay, at 11:00 AM, with a reception following. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119).
