Obituary of Diane Lee O'Connor
It is with much sadness that the family of Diane O’Connor of Cambridge Narrows, beloved wife of Eldon O’Connor, announce her passing which occurred on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on March 14, 1950 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Audrey (Hayman) Edwards.
Diane loved gathering in the summertime to play games, washer toss and croquet with her precious loved ones. She always had snacks ready for the fun-filled weekends and was ready for a good time. Diane was a huge Toronto Blue Jays fan and a loyal Toronto Maple Leafs fan. She enjoyed crafting and always held a special place in her heart for dogs. Diane also enjoyed watching Friends and The Big Bang Theory. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her hardworking ways and for the pride that she took in everything that she did. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband Eldon, Diane will be lovingly remembered by her children, Kevin Defazio (Tracie), Michael Defazio (Lisa Burnett) and Lori Peebles (John Dobbin); sisters, Nancy Arnburg (Arthur), Judy Edwards (Ernie) and Donna Shannon (Gary); brother, Tony Edwards (Kim); grandchildren, Shawn, Kayla, Austin, Brandon, Lucas, Matthew, Joshua, Jacob, Sarah, Evan and Katianna; great-grandchildren. Cayden, Liam, Marlow, Liam, Myla, Hope, Kyra, Olivia May, Landon, Ayden, Greyson, Paisley, Lily and Ayla; step-children, Terri O’Connor (Jean), Mary Kierstead (Brad) and Kathy Anderson (Bruce); step-grandchildren, Katie, Ryan, Daniel (Anna), Allison (John), Emma, Connor and Ben; step-great-grandchildren, William, Judah, Ellie and Malcolm; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Joan Stone and brother, Fred (Peb) Edwards.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) where visitation will take place on Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 2:00 - 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by visiting Diane's obituary on the Brenan's website. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, 715 Latimore Lake Road, Saint John on Friday at 3:00 PM.
