Obituary of Frank Hogan
Francis ‘Frank’ John Hogan passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Kennebec Manor surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born on May 1, 1958 in Saint John, NB to the late Edward and Rita (O’Hara) Hogan.
Frank was proudly raised as a resident of the West Side of Saint John.
He had a passion for learning and achieved degrees in Psychology, Law and Social Work. After attending Law School, Frank began his professional life as a lawyer. Later in his career, he found great fulfillment as a social worker with the Community Mental Health/ Mobile Mental Health Unit. In this role, he touched many lives and provided invaluable support to countless individuals within our community. Throughout both careers he focused on giving back. He was involved with the John Howard Society, ACAP Saint John, Romero House and many other initiatives. Frank will be remembered as a truly caring and kind man, and his compassion extended to all creatures great and small. Frank’s love for animals was a constant throughout his life. From dogs to alligators to chickens, he loved them all despite being allergic to many.
Frank will be missed by his daughter Rachel Hogan (Dave MacKinnon), son Colin Hogan (Jolene), sister Mary Campbell (Alan), mother of his children Ann Chappell, beloved grandchildren; Hugh MacKinnon, Vera and Jody Hogan, close friends Mark McGovern and Roland Allhiser, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Edward Hogan.
Frank’s family and friends would like to thank the incredible staff at Kennebec Manor for their years of care and respect.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, June 12 at 10:00 AM in Castle Fallsview Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations in Frank’s memory can be made to MindCare, Canadian Mental Health Association NB Chapter or a charity of the donor’s choice.
