Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Burns

On June 9th, 2025, at Passamaquoddy Lodge in St Andrews, NB, Margaret Elizabeth Burns (Ross) was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour. She entered eternal rest peacefully with her family by her side, at the age of 78. She was born in Saint John, NB on December 19th, 1946 to the late Cyril and Phyllis Ross.

Margie has been reunited with the love of her life the late Patrick Burns, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage.

Margie is survived by her daughters Patti Meehan (Steve); Lesley Burns .Son Paul Burns (Kelly); leaves behind her cherished Grandchildren James (Ashley), Calvin, Jackie(Jeremy), Martin (Rose) William, Jacob, Janelle (Kyle). Great grandchildren Adeline, Layla, Jaxen, Fisher, Chloe, Trevor, Austin. Predeceased great grandson Beau Donahee.

Also leaves behind many sister-in laws and brother-in laws of the Burns’ family along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margie was a proud, loving and devoted mother, wife, grandmother and friend. Her family was her greatest joy. She was the heart of her family, respected, admired, and dearly loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Margie drew her strength from a strong devotion of her faith.

Margie spent many memorable years at Haynes Lake with her family and then Pleasant Lake Campground in Alexander Co. Maine. Margie loved cooking especially BBQing but best of all she loved to savour every bite.

She had a love for music, Margie played the guitar & piano in her younger days. She loved listening to her son strumming his guitar at family gatherings or by the bonfire. She also enjoyed her Granddaughter Jackie singing, shaking the egg along with the beat. Margie was cherished by all who knew her will be Forever in our Hearts.

Arrangements are entrusted with Castle Fallsview Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB. (506)634-1701. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM with Funeral Service following immediately at 3:00 PM. Interment will take place in Maces Bay Cemetery. Donations in memory of Margie can be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
