Obituary of Doreen Beverly (née Gill) Boyer

Doreen Beverly (née Gill) Boyer passed away peacefully at the Regional Hospital on Monday, June 16^th with her husband and children by her side.  Born on November 3^rd, 1941 in Fredericton, the daughter of the late Willard and Annie (Jones) Gill. 

Devoted wife to Richard Boyer and loving mother to Michelle Boyer, Heather Cameron (Blair), Andrew Boyer (Anna) and Stephen Boyer (Tanya).  Nanny to her seven grandchildren, Madyson, Emily, Alex, Kenzie, Kaitlin, Parker, Brooklyn and one furry companion, a Shih Tzu named Molly. 

She was predeceased by siblings Hilda Mills, Geraldine Driscoll, Elaine Babineau, Arlington "Bud" Gill, Merville Gill and her aunt Leona Brandwood.  She will be missed by her sister Judith Jackson (Robert), her uncle Jack Brandwood and many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. 

Doreen graduated in 1963 from Saint John Vocational School and enjoyed attending reunions and catching up with old friends.  After graduation, she worked for eight years at the school board.  She had many fond memories of that time.  With a family of four children, including one set of twins, you can imagine the time it took to care for the needs of the family, including running daily to after school events and appointments. 

Known to like the phone, Doreen had many long chats with her sisters and friends and looked forward to their Thursday shopping adventures.  She passed along her talent for baking and sewing to her daughters who have now passed on that same passion to the next generation.  She was very proud of her children and grandchildren.  Being a dedicated family person, she passed only 10 days before celebrating her 60^th wedding anniversary.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visitation Friday, June 27^th from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm.  The service will be held at Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday, June 28^th at 11am with a reception to follow.  Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
