Obituary of Lorraine Lisbeth Craig
Lorraine Lisbeth Craig (Sim), 74, of Maces Bay, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, on January 9, 1951, Lorri was the daughter of Kenneth and Evelyn Sim. She graduated from Bayview High School in 1969 and went on to earn her nursing degree from Credit Valley School of Nursing in 1972. Lorri is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of over 50 years, Doug, their son Matt, and daughter Susan (Craig). She also leaves behind her sister, Sue (Bill), brother, Rob (Lynda), and brothers-in-law, Fraser (Marie) and Spencer (Laverne), along with her nieces and nephew. Lorri was predeceased by her sisters in-law, Elaine and Jo-Anne, and her niece, Cathy. Her absence will be deeply felt by her canine companions, Piper and Luna, whom she adored, and by her wide circle of friends who were truly her extended family.
A dedicated and proud nurse, Lorri's career spanned Ontario, Saskatchewan, and New Brunswick, where she formed enduring friendships with many of her fellow nurses. Lorri was beautifully creative and mastered countless arts and crafts throughout her life. A skilled seamstress, she was constantly creating thoughtful pieces for her family and friends. Her diverse hobbies included knitting, painting, stained glass, felting, and quilting, among many others. She also had a remarkable eye for interior design, evident in the lovely homes she and Doug built together over the years. She had a vibrant spirit and a love for many things: animals, bacon, travel, Mariner's Sea Salt and Caramel ice cream, mac and cheese, Scrabble, fairies, jigsaw puzzles, shopping (oh, how she loved to shop!), spiced rum, and always speaking her mind.
Doug, Matt, and Susan extend their gratitude to their friends and family for their support and kindness during this difficult time. They also wish to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Bobby's Hospice for the exceptional care provided to Lorri.
