Helen Brown (Jones)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Brown (Jones) on June 22, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on January 14, 1946, to Clifford and Violet (Dibblee) Jones. Helen dedicated 55 years of her life to caring for others as a registered nurse with, the majority of her career spent in the Post Anesthetic Care Unit, where she met many colleagues over the years who became lifelong friends

Helen was known for her feisty spirit and her immense capacity for love. She approached life with a vibrant energy that was infectious to those around her. Her warmth and dedication shone brightly, not only in her professional life but especially within her cherished family and close friendships of which there were many.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Jackie Brown, of 55 years, who was her devoted partner through life's journey. Helen was a loving mother to her daughters, Jennifer (Rick) Wong and Jodi Furlong (Brown), who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Her greatest joy came from her role as grandmother to Olivia, Josh, Sarah, Conner, Meagan, and Adam, each of whom brought immense happiness and a sense of pride into her life. Helen is survived by her loving sister Diana Jones, and her niece Daniella (Trevor), and Brother-in-Law Bob Brown.

Helen's compassion, strength, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Helen always loved taking care of others and did so in many ways. She volunteered with UCT making brown bag lunches and always worked with her colleagues to make Christmas special for families in need.

Visitation will be at Brenan’s Funeral Home on Paradise Row on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. There will be a Celebration of Life for Helen at Harmony United Church at 1pm on Friday, June 27, with a reception to follow.
