Obituary of Dorothy Elizabeth Buckley

It is with great sadness that the family of Dorothy Elizabeth Buckley announces her passing which occurred at  Embassy Hall on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Born in Mundleville, NB, on February 21, 1933, she was a daughter of the late John and Bessy (Lawson)  Mundle.

Dorothy was a RN who started her training in Montreal ending in Saint John where she met her future husband Rowland.   Throughout her years she was on the Board at the YWCA and a member of the Riverside Golf and Country Club. 

During her retirement she enjoyed her grandchildren and walking her beloved dog Ollie.

Dorothy leaves behind her children, Gwen Day, Daniel Buckley, Janet (Geordie) Lamb, Anita (Carl) Britten; Brothers and Sisters, George (The late Arlene) Mundle, Arnold (Sheila) Mundle, Beulah (Bonar Morton; grandchildren, Barbara Day, Ben Day (Lauren), Kate Day, Cole Britten, Andrew Lamb (Tinisha); great-granddaughter, Chole Day; Brother in law William Hartling as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Rowland Buckley; as well as her brothers and sisters, Margaret McLeod, Eleanor Hartling, Gertha Oxley (Aubrey). 

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes there will be a visitation held at Brenan’s July 9, 2025, from 10 AM until 12 PM followed by service at St James the Less at 1 PM with Interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery.
