Obituary of Hilda Mary Ferguson

Hilda Mary Ferguson of Saint John, wife of the late Alphonse Ferguson, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Minto on November 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Amedie and Catherine (Maillette) Daigle. Hilda loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and walking. She was a parishioner of St. Rose de Lima Church. Hilda is survived by her children, David Ferguson (Mary), Donna Makepeace, and Peter Ferguson, all of Saint John; four grandchildren, Andrew and Eric Makepeace, and Haley and Tyler Ferguson; sisters-in-law Eva Daigle of Saint John, Ann Daigle of Minto, and Stella McLaughlin of Tracadie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Hilda was predeceased by an infant son, Frank; sisters Eva Gogan (Edgar), Julienne Belliveau (Hector), Amelia Hebert (Alphonse), and Melice Quigley (Harley); and brothers Evee, Fred (Alice), Art, and Pat (Anna) Daigle. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with visiting on Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM from St. Rose de Lima Church. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
