Obituary of Myra "Elaine" Parent

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Myra Elaine (Gauthier) Parent on May 30, 2013. After an 18month battle with Cancer. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at Bobby’s Hospice House. Born in Minto, NB, on July 2, 1950. She was the daughter of Edith Doiron and the late Fred Jacquart. Elaine moved to Saint John in 1963, and graduated from Vocational High School in 1968. She then went to work for NBtel and retired from there after 30 years of service. Elaine’s generous heart and kind ways were extended to everyone she met. Her greatest treasure was her family! She is survived by her devoted husband Gerard, of 44 years, her daughter Michelle English (Jim), sons John (Carrie) and Christopher (Michelle). Her 6 grandchildren who loved her dearly, Jaimee, Bobby, Nicholas and Rachel English and Melina & Benjamin Parent. Her mother Edith Doiron, her big sister Jeannie Anderson (Jim), brother Robert Doiron (Janet), sisters Annette White, Norma Bradford (Kenny), Barbara Doiron (Alex), brothers Ronnie Jacquart, Brian Jacquart (Hazel), Paul Jacquart (Mary) and Michael Jacquart (Natalie), and a very special uncle Alyre Gauthier, as well as numerous extended family members. She was predeceased by her father Fred Jacquart this past October, her big brother Fidel Gauthier and by her maternal grandparents who loved and cared for her deeply. A special Thanks goes out to Joanne Doucet for everything she has done for the family over the past year. Elaine was a true Angel here on earth and now she is our guardian Angel in heaven. Words cannot express how much she will be missed. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Bobby’s Hospice, IWK, Canadian Cancer Society or donor’s choice.
