Obituary of Barbara Maxine Parker-LaRocque

Barbara Maxine Parker-LaRocque, passed away on December 16, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 24, 1936 in Owl Head Harbour, Nova Scotia she was a daughter of the late Homer and Mabel (Isen) Parker. Barbara graduated from the Saint John School of Nursing in 1958 and worked many years in nursing. She was a founding member of the Fundamental Baptist Church. She was a graceful lady who had a great sense of humour and a caring heart and because of this she had many friends over the years. She had a special love for children and loved her grandchildren dearly. Brian and Barbara enjoyed going to county jamborees throughout the province and have many great memories doing so. She will be dearly missed by her husband and all who knew her. Surviving are her husband, Brian LaRocque; children, Cassandra (Wayne) Russell; Susan (John) Ames; step-son, Andrew LaRocque; brothers Lyall (Christie) Parker; Norman Parker and Richard Parker; sisters, Janet (Richard) Hanson; Marion (Jim) Pettis; Lillian Parker; Victoria Parker and Ruby Webber; many grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Claude Webber. Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, 634-7425, with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday, December 18 and 19, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 2:00 pm from Fundamental Baptist Church. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Fundamental Baptist Church or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
