Obituary of Norma Pearle Foster Logan Brown

It is with sad and lonely hearts that the family of Norma Logan Brown announces her passing at Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home on December 18, 2013, from complications of Lewy Body Dementia. Norma Pearle Foster Logan Brown was born on May 27, 1924 in Saint John to her loving parents Luella and Walter Foster. She had five brothers and four sisters and they were a close-knit and devoted family. Prior to becoming ill, Norma loved to knit, sew, cross-stitch and play bridge. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. She had a keen memory and a sharp mind. She loved baking treats and there was always fresh jam in the fridge. Norma had a very patient personality and a gentle soul. She was an excellent listener. She didn’t criticize or give her opinions unless asked to do so. These qualities were what contributed to her family loving to spend time with her. During Norma’s life time she worked for the Board of Trade in 1942, six days a week for $13.00 per week. After bringing up her family, she returned to work and was hired at the Protestant Orphanage Home as a payroll clerk. Norma is survived by her daughters Beverlee Morrison and husband Al; Jill Edwards and her husband Bill and only son Alan Logan. Norma also leaves behind her sisters Nerea Moore and husband Earle, Lois Lemmon and husband Rt. Rev. George Lemmon, Shirley Shelley; her brothers Lloyd Foster and wife Rosalind and Carl Foster and wife Barbara. She was blessed to be survived by her grandchildren Sally Clive, Andrew Savoy, Luke Edwards, John Edwards, Julie Edwards-Rocca, Thomas Edwards and several precious great grandchildren. They all loved their Nanny! She is also survived by her numerous nieces and nephews. Norma was married on December 25, 1945 to Walter Logan. Walter died June 07, 1972. She later married Ernest "Newie" Brown of Fairfield. He passed away June 27, 1996. She was blessed to have had two wonderful and loving husbands. Besides her husbands she was predeceased by her brothers Mayes Foster, Gregory Foster, Douglas Foster and sister Dorothy Weatherhead Norma’s family wish to send their heart-felt thanks and appreciation to the staff of Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. They treated our mother with the best care and utmost respect. Their warm hearts and gentle hands kept our mother very comfortable during her stay.
