Obituary of Darrell Garnet Dick

Surrounded by his loving family, Darrell Dick, of Saint John and L’Etete, NB died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was 76. Darrell was born on September 5, 1938 in Machias, Maine and was the son of the late Doris (Hoyt) and Lloyd Dick. Darrell is survived by his wife, three sons, six grandchildren and brother Kendall (Linda). In 1963 Darrell married Carol Savage and together they had three sons whom he loved dearly. Darren (Scott) lives in Halifax and has two children (Mac and Ella), Jerome (Tara) lives in Saint John and has three children (Cameron, Matina and MacLaren) and Wesley (Mina) lives in San Francisco and has one child (Cabot). Darrell retired from the CP Rail after 39 years with the company. Darrell was a long-time member of the LAN-SAN cribbage club and a volunteer with the Lancaster Minor Hockey Association for many years. Darrell was never happier than when spending time with his loving wife Carol, his sons and their families at the cottage in L’Etete. He will be greatly missed. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, 634-7425, with visiting on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, December 13 at 11am at St. Mark’s United Church with Reverend John Roy officiating. A reception will be held following the service. Interment will take place at St. George Rural Cemetery in St. George, NB at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Darrell’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society or another charity of the donor’s preference. www.brenansfh.com
