Obituary of Jean Mary Elkin

The death of Jean Mary Elkin formerly of East Riverside, NB, wife of the late B. Gordon Elkin, occurred on Tuesday, December 24, 2002, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frederick William and Lora (Munro) Connell. Jean and her husband resided in Toronto, ON, from 1938-1981, before they retired to East Riverside. She was a member of the Toronto Red Cross, Humber Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Central United Church and other community service groups in Toronto. Upon retirement, she attended St. David's United Church, Rothesay, NB, Riverside Golf and Country Club and the I.O.D.E. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Hepburn (Dennis), London, ON and Lora Underell (Rod), Abbotsford, BC, grandchildren Jonathan and Kaila, Meredith, Ian and Michael, nine very close nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Dr. Frederick Ralph Connell. By request there will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424), on Saturday, December 28, 2002 at 11:00 AM.
