Obituary of Margaret Eleanor Nice
The death of Mrs. Margaret Eleanor Nice of 14 Kings Square South, Saint John, NB, formerly of Bayswater, NB, wife of F. Lincoln B. Nice, occurred on Wednesday, December 18, 2002, at her residence. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Hornbrook and Margaret (Adams) MacKenzie. She had worked at the Provincial Wood Products, the Saint John General Hospital, the Parish of Simonds office and after amalgamation, the City Manager's Office of the City of Saint John. She was a life long member of the Edith Ave. Baptist Church having taught Sunday School, been a C.G.I.T. leader and worked with the B.Y.P.U. Margaret was a life member of the Womens' Missionary Society and the Seniors' Group of her church. She was also a chartered member of Fundy Chapter #34, Order of the Eastern Star and at the time of her death a member of the Saint John Chapter #14. Besides her husband of 61 years, Margaret is survived by three sons, David Lincoln Nice (Marilyn) of Bloomfield, Frederick Alvin Nice (Linda) of Rothesay and Perry Alexander Nice (Catherine) of Rothesay, NB; eight grandchildren, Jonathan (Candace) Nice, Michelle (Bradley) Cummings, Natacha (Martin) Skinner, Andrew (Karin Frazer), Kenneth (Julie), Philip, Robert and Elizabeth (Libby) Nice, three great grandchildren, Jaisy and Jordan Skinner and Benjamin Cummings. Margaret was predeceased by one brother, Frank Wallace MacKenzie and one grand daughter, Elaine Margaret Nice. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424), with visiting on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 21, 2002, 2:00 p.m. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
