Obituary of Ronald Enos Gallagher
The death of Ronald Enos (Ron) Gallagher, husband of Leah (Bowland) Gallagher, occurred on November 3, 2002, at his residence. Born at New Horton, NB, he was the son of the late Enos and Alice (Hanson) Gallagher. He served two tours of duty during the Korean War. He was President of the Korean Veteran's Association. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #213 and had been employed with McAvity's, Charlton & Leslie Ltd. and retired from Saint John Ship Building Ltd. He enjoyed Stock Car Racing driving for over 17 years. Besides his wife he is survived by his sons Edward and his wife Nancy of St. Martins, Donald and his wife Claudia of Rothesay, Mark and his wife Shawne of Hampton, his daughter Lisa and her husband Joseph Robertson of Saint John, his grandchildren Tom, Jen, Matthew, Shannon, Ashley and Colin, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Eva. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Tribute to a Veteran's Service on Wednesday at 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2002, at 11:00 AM, from St. James Anglican Church, Lakewood. Interment will take place at Mosher Hill Cemetery, St. Martins.
